In the modern life where you live in a corporate jungle one ends up setting the goals that one thinks will bring in happiness, not realizing they are usually driven out of the desire to accomplish something that gives one a feeling of success (in material sense).
In my recent self-reflections I realized, you get more done in a day than most people, yet you rarely feel a real sense of accomplishment? You are always on to the next task, to accomplish more, so there’s not time for rest or reflect. The goal you originally set out to achieve that is supposed to create more happiness ends up creating more stress! And in the end, even if we achieve our goal, we are too depleted to actually celebrate and enjoy it.
It is very important to enjoy the fruits of your hard work , as they say, if you keep saving the cents today for a bigger boat tomorrow you will never go fishing 🙂
The challenge is that most of us don’t know we are pushing ourselves too hard until we have already gotten to the stage of becoming the self-critical and the unhappy version of ourselves.
As difficult as it may seem at first, have the courage to accept yourself as who you really are, not as someone else thinks you should be & that will help you define your real goals & successes.
I have experienced that once you decide for yourself, there are so many people (including those you least expect) will come to your help & celebrate with you the success in life!
